This is a story that will definitely restore your faith in humanity. Instead of enjoying the luxuries of retirement, Fidencio Sanchez, who is 89 years old and living in Chicago, was forced to sell paletas (a type of Mexican popsicle) after his daughter died and his wife fell ill. When Joel Cervantes Macias was driving in the Little Village area of Chicago, he came across a sad scene: Sanchez struggling to push his popsicle cart all by himself and trying to make a dollar to pay his mounting bills. After seeing this, Macias bought 20 popsicles for $50 and set up a GoFundMe page that has raised over $300,000 to date for the elderly man and his wife. Thank you, Joel, for your compassion and kindness!
