How to use aperture to achieve depth-of-field

Rule number one in photography: get up close and personal. A renowned photojournalist once told me to be unafraid of getting close to your subject. “Forget that your camera even has a zoom,” he said, “duct tape it, if you must.” Photographer Chris Wahl echoes a very similar sentiment in our video here. Using his Canon camera and either a 35mm or 50mm lens, Wahl gets close to his subject and snaps continuously for a variety of angles. He talks about how to get that blurred background with a crisp focal point and how adjusting your aperture can give you desired results. Watch the video to learn more!
