Lights, your camera’s ISO, action!

You don’t take photos, you make photos. As the photographer, you can create the most ideal atmosphere in which to shoot and that often means finding your best lighting scenario. In this short video, photographer Chris Wahl explains how to use your camera’s ISO. To sum up, if there’s low lighting, increase your ISO, if it’s a brightly lit area—you got it—decrease your ISO. Wahl’s lens of choice for portrait photography is a 50mm lens because of its wide aperture and shallow depth-of-field. Whether you’re in a house or outside, follow the light and compose your photo there—and don’t be afraid to direct your subject(s) either, the gorgeous result will speak for itself.
