Often when people start thinking about planning their next exciting trip, Canada is overlooked. If they happen to be looking for beaches, they automatically think of the Caribbean, lush green rainforests? The Amazon in Brazil, or perhaps Costa Rica. But, Canada has beaches and rainforests and much, much more. The beautiful and vast country is one of the world’s most glorious countries. Here’s just one short list to prove it.
1. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
We hope you’re not afraid of heights! As one of Vancouver, B.C.’s most popular tourist attractions, the Capilano Suspension Bridge runs 140 meters long and stands 70 meters above the Capilano River. The striking bridge draws in more than 800,000 visitors a year.
2. Prince Edward Island
The classic 1908 novel “Anne of Green Gables” by Lucy Maud Montgomery put the smallest Canadian province on the map—and for good reason. The rocky red cliffs, gorgeous beaches, and fresh seafood are just a few things of PEI’s appealing attributes definitely worth seeing (and eating!).
3. Lake Louise
Alberta’s Lake Louise, in Banff’s National Park, is an extraordinary sight and not to be missed. Named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, the stunning lake overlooks glacier peaks and is the perfect spot for exciting outdoor activities all yearlong.
4. Yukon
As the westernmost and smallest of Canada’s three federal territories, the Yukon is known for its subarctic climate, made up of long cold winters and short warm summers. It’s also famed for being one of the top places in Canada to view the northern lights.
5. Niagara Falls
No need to book a plane ticket to see some of the world’s most fascinating waterfalls; just get in your car and drive about an hour outside of Toronto. Niagara Falls represents three waterfalls that are situated on the border between Canada and the U.S. and is one of Canada’s most notable, and visited, landmarks.
