Grandmother of two, accomplished ceramicist, and photographer Yasmina Rossi is finding incredible success as a model—in her 40s and 50s.

The silver-haired beauty from Corsica moved to New York in her forties because of a lack of opportunities for a model her age in Europe. Since then she has been featured in dozens of campaigns in Europe and the US.

Rossi got started in the youth-centric industry in her late 20s as a fit model for fashion houses like Yves Saint Laurent. Her big break came with a series of Marks & Spencer ads that she did at age 45. Since then she has landed campaigns for brands like Mastercard, At&T, Macy’s, and Hermes.

Rossi told The Sunday Times that she thinks her success has something to do with her maturity and energy, and she has a lot more confidence than she did when she was younger.

“I like the way I look now more than how I looked 20 years ago. My body is nicer and I feel happier than when I was 20.”

How does she maintain her youthful glow and energy? Eating organic—including a daily avocado—using rapeseed oil in her beautiful hair, and scrubbing her face with a mix of olive oil and fine sugar once a week. She also tries to avoid traditional medicine, opting for more holistic treatments, and doesn’t over exercise.

But really, she insists, “there is no big secret.”
